An Intelligence Bureau officer who was kidnapped on Thursday was found killed by the militants in Meghalaya.
A young officer of Intelligence Bureau who was abducted by militants on Thursday was reportedly killed by the militants in Meghalaya.
According to the sources Bikash Singh a young officer of IB was killed by militants. The body of Bikash Singh was found on Friday.
Singh was a new recruit posted as assistant central intelligence officer at Baghmara.On Thursday he was abducted along with a cloth merchant identified as Kamal Saha while they were travelling in Sumo along with other passengers from Rongara village to Baghmara at around 8. 30 am.
The official when he was travelling in a Sumo leaving Rongara for Baghmara on Thursday morning. When the Sumo had crossed Panda reserve forest which is a midpoint between Rongara and Baghmara, at around 8:30 am.
Suddenly two men in camouflage and carrying arms emerged from the undergrowth and ordered the driver to stop the vehicle. The men ordered all twelve passengers to come out of the vehicle and are asked to stand in a line.
Later the militants took away the officer and cloth merchant asked the remaining of the passengers to board the vehicle and leave for Baghmara.
According to the police officials ASAK militants might be behind the abduction of the Intelligence Bureau official and the trader. And the exact location where the kidnap took place was not clear.
Meghalaya police along with the BSF are launched a search operation for the abducted official with the deployment of as many as 100 security personnel.
Meanwhile according to the report that came from north eastern state it was learnt that the officer had been killed in the South Garo hills of Meghalaya. The information about the cloth merchant is not yet known.
