Once again, several schools in and around Mumbai are in the top 10 under different categories in a countrywide education survey . Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, Thane, Campion School, Fort, J.B.Petit High School, Fort and Dhirubhai Ambani International School, BKC were among the top in various categories.
The EducationWorld India School Rankings 2016 surveyed 1,000 schools in 13 categories across 28 cities. The Centre for Forecasting’s (C fore) field researchers surveyed10,301parents, teachers, principals, educationists and senior students.
Thane’s Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School was ranked the second in the co-ed day category . The school’s position last year was first. “There are two things which we concentrate on innovation and making school a fun place,“ said Revathy Srinivasan, Principal, Sulochanadevi Singhania School.The other school which made it to the top 10 in this category was Cathedral in Fort (Rank 5). Campion School, Fort has bagged the top position in the boys day school category . “Participation of all stake holders is most important for the success of a school,“ said principal, Paul Machado. In the girls day school category , J.B. Petit High School, Fort ranked first, up from last year’s 5. “Our students are empowered to think for themselves, articulate their points of view, develop courage of conviction and perform dynamically in va ried fields,“ said principal, Benaifer Kutar.
Among the international day schools, for the fourth time, Dhirubhai Ambani International School, BKC maintained the top spot. Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Bombay , Powai was ranked the fourth in the government day schools category . Other categories where Mumbai schools found mention were schools for students with special needs and budget private schools.
