Don’t declare constable recruitment results: HC
The Allahabad high court asked the Uttar Pradesh government not to declare the results of a constable recruitment test given by thousands of applicants recently . The court was hearing a petition by Ranvijay Singh who challenged changes made to rules in the middle of recruitment.
The new rules say no written examination is needed for the recruitment of police constables, and the merit list would be based on marks of class 10 and 12. The applicants later need to pass physical tests. The petitioner said the government should not have changed rules once the process had started. The government had advertised 28,916 posts of male and 5,800 posts of female constables in 2015. Later a corrigendum was issued.
