Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is pitching for committed party leaders and not turncoats for the byelections to the Warangal Lok Sabha and Narayankhed Assembly seats.
A number of TRS leaders are trying their luck for themselves or their kin, including minister Kadiam Srihari who wants his daughter Kadiam Kavya nominated, and sacked minister T. Rajaiah, who wants a ticket for his family to recoup lost ground. Neither appeal seems to carry much weight with Mr Rao.
“The CM has almost finalised the name of Mr Bhupal Reddy for Narayankhed. He is a senior party leader and contested the last time. His name will be announced once the notification is issued. Mr Ravi Kumar or Mr Dayakar may be considered for the Warangal LS bypoll,” a senior TRS leader revealed.
