And finally, it is here. The most awaited iPhone 6S. Honestly, we’re just tired of all the hoopla surrounding a phone which is over-priced, hardly sees any changes year-on-year and isn’t a “pathbreaking” product anymore… I mean, iPhone 6S, really? Atleast try and get innovative with the name. But hey! That’s just us. For all you ‘Apple iPhone fanboiz’ who have already decided to stop reading this – well, just continue reading below. You might find something drool-worthy that will make you forget all the hatred.
So well yes, coming back to the iPhone 6S. iPhone 6S has stayed pretty true to rumours. The phone comes in a whole lot of colours this time around. Apart from the standard Gold, Silver and Grey shades, there’s another shade to woo the ladies we guess – Rose Gold, albeit it looks more like Baby Pink. The iPhone 6S display is the all new Force Touch display but more on the features of Force Touch later. The display size stays the same with 4.7-inches. While we’re relived that Apple did not go and increase the iPhone 6S display size by a sneaky millimeter to two, we would have liked it if the size was decreased a bit… However, 4.7 is a good number for a phone to be! The display is not the sapphire glass display but an all new ion-strengthened glass with oleophobic coating. The Force Touch technology used in the iPhone 6S is said to make the viewing experience and usability a lot better. The 750 x 1334 pixels resolution is definitely not the QHD display but when has Apple ever needed to go with the flow? They’re just random numbers and letters, aren’t they?
After the looks come the working. The iPhone 6S comes with a dual-core 2GHz processor. Apple has finally, finally increased the RAM to 2GB from their 1GB standard. As usual, there’s no memory card slot and the three internal memory variants are for iPhone 6S are: 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. The iPhone 6S comes with a 12MP rear end snapper. The camera is definitely a welcome upgrade from the 8MP Apple stuck to in the past. The front camera of iPhone 6S has also received a much awaited upgrade to 5MP. The flash continues to be the dual-tone flash which Apple claims helps capture the exact tone of the photo.
The battery is a 1810 mAh battery and while we had hoped that Apple would bump up the battery size a bit, we can’t rally say we’re disappointed as 1810 should last you long enough. With the latest Apple software tweaks, it might go on for a lot longer than expected too. Now, coming to the most important point: the price. iPhone 6S is priced at $199 for 16GB, $299 for 64GB and $399 for 128GB. Quite a surprise seeing Apple generally ups the costs by a hundred dollars or so. But then, what about India? Will the iPhone 6S price in India be the same as that of the iPhone 6? Let’s wait and watch!
