Apple TV is a digital media player developed by the micro console and sold by Apple Inc. It is capable of streaming, but developers are focused now only for games, featured with remote, double controller, new graphics coming with a price tag around $150.
The third generation Apple TV is launched on March 7th, 2012 embedded with 1080P video standards. While just rumors, the reports coincide with previous reports that point to Apple also putting new streaming services on the back-burner and showcasing other products, such as the new versions of OS X and iOS.
Apple to launch Apple TV exclusively for Games
Apple is trying to add something new, it is concentrating on games which will win over fans of the high-end game such as Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4.
Hope Apple will also think about the casual gamers who don’t like high-end games. Earlier on August 27, Apple made a meet with journalists where they unveiled about Apple TV and new versions of Apple devices.
The developers postponed the launching date to the set-top box.Lucrative as it may be, Apple TV is far from the top earner for the house that Steve built. In its last fiscal quarter, Apple reported $58bn in total revenues, $40.2bn of that coming from the iPhone product line.
Apple doesn’t contain a TV tuner, front row is developing playstation in Apple TV.
“I think Apple’s going to create a big new category in gaming, one that others have tried and failed to create before,” said Jan Dawson, chief analyst at the technology research firm Jackdaw Research. “What the Apple TV has the potential to do is to bring casual gaming to the living room and make it a much more social activity.”
Apple’s “other products” category, a catch-all category that includes the Apple TV and Beats Electronics, brought in just $1.6bn of revenues on the quarter, down 10 percent from last year.
