Gogoi, Tasa file papers in Titabor
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today filed his nomination papers before the SDO (Civil) of the subdivision to contest the ensuing Assembly polls in his home constituency Titabor, in the presence of thousands of supporters and party workers.
Talking to reporters, a jubilant Gogoi said that the spontaneous affection of the citizens of his home constituency today encouraged him immensely, and it energized his spirit of serving the people for another 10 years. Earlier, his main rival Kamakhya Prasad Tasa also filed his papers in the presence of a similarly large crowd of party workers and supporters.
Exuding confidence of victory for the fourth consecutive term, Gogoi said that he would be the Chief Minister of the State as Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had already announced his name as the Chief Ministerial candidate and told him to lead the party in the ongoing poll campaign.
