Asiya Andrabi Arrested In Srinagar: Chief of radical Islamic women’s outfit Dukhtaran-e-Milat Asiya Andrabi, was arrested on Friday in Srinagar.
Syed Asiya Andrabi who was the chair person of Dukhtaran e Millat and her close aide Fehmeeda Sofi were detained by Srinagar police during a nocturnal raid on Thursday.
A police team have raided Asiya’s house located in Soura on Thurday night and detained her and her associate.
The duo were moved to a Women’s police station of Rambagh. Asiya is accused in a case for waving Pakistani flags on several occasions, displaying anti national sentiments, and addressing a conference in Pakistan over the phone.
It is learnt that Andrabi also celebrated Pakistan Independence Day on August 14, 2015, a day before Indian Independence day. On the same day a telephonic speech has been made by Andrabi for a rally organised by Jamat-Ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed in which she expressed anti-India sentiments and had greeted the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day.
Before that she had celebrated the Pakistan Independence day at her house at Bachpora area along with DeM supporters in which they have waved Pakistani flags.
These acts of Andrabi and her attitude against India have stocked controversy and the Jammu & Kashmir BJP unit president Jugal Kishore demanded strict action against her.
This is second Anti national activity of Andrabhi, earlier on March 23 she had celebrated the Pakistan’s national day and was booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
The separatist leader was booked by the Jammu and Kashmir police under the same act.
