BSF saves 10 villagers from Padma river
The Border Security Force (BSF) saved 10 people from drowning after their country-made boat capsized in the Padma on Tuesday .
The incident occurred in the Jalangi area of Murshidabad, close to the Bamnabad border outpost.
“Troops of the 83Bn BSF , posted at Bamnabad BOP spotted a boat carrying 20-25 people from the Beespara village.Even as the BSF personnel watched, the boat started capsizing in a tributary of the Padma. A rescue operation was launched with the help of the BSF’s Water Wing. The troops managed to rescue 10 villagers in their speed boat. The remaining were rescued by locals. The condition of Qudus Sk (25), from Matav Colony was serious and was taken to the a primary health centre at Pathaghata where he was declared brought dead ,“ a BSF official said. The civil administration said that all , save for two, are safe. Search is on for the two missing persons.
