Back from Munich on Saturday , chief minister Mamata Banerjee has no time to waste. The CM has called a high-level meeting at Nabanna on Monday to take stock of the land return preparations in Singur.The Hooghly administration is working overtime to prepare the compensation cheques that Mamata wants to hand over to land owners who didn’t take compensation so long. She will distribute these cheques in the Singur meeting on September 14.
Three things top the agenda -shifting of the unfinished Tata factory sheds spread over 49 acres of the acquired land, pulling down the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) administrative building inside the compound and shifting of the power sub-station, work of which has slowed down following protests from villagers of the three mouzas it caters to.
