Cyber lab network launched in state
Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the head office of cyber labs at the World Trade Centre (WTC) on Monday .
The cyber labs would provide necessary technical support to cyber cops in solving cases. A total of 34 labs have been set up in 34 districts to fight the growing cyber-crimes in the state. Also the state has trained 1,000 personnel who would be assigned the job at these labs and would be regularly trained and updated with latest technology to ensure nabbing of criminals.
Inspector general (cyber) Brijesh Singh said these cyber labs will help in analyzing evidence collected in any offen ces in the form of CCTV footage, call data record, retrieval of files that the criminals delete from any gadgets, retrieval of bank records and the link traced hacked by fraudsters.
“The cyber force comprises 1,000 trained personnel who will help in creating forensic report of the technical evidence collected in any offences,“ said Singh.
Addressing the gathering during the ceremony , Fadnavis said that the labs will be equipped to analyse mobile forensic and call detail records and it is a part of the state government’s proposed cybercrime project. A total of 51 such labs will be started across the state which is expected to be completed by December this year.
