Buoyed by the impressive victory his party has scored in the State capital and across Kerala, State BJP president V. Muralidharan has said that the poll results clearly show that nobody can now brush aside the BJP in the State.
The BJP is racing ahead in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, winning over a dozen seats and another 17 seats, with the possibility of emerging as the second biggest party in the Corporation council. It has opened account in many municipalities and all the Corporations in the State and has already crossed its 2010 tally of wards in the three-tier local bodies.
However, there was a big question mark about the success of the tie-up with the SNDP Yogam with the alliance not succeeding to make a mark in Yogam strongholds of Kottayam and Alappuzha. Even in the home ward of Yogam general secretary Vellappalli Natesan, the alliance suffered defeat at the hands of the UDF.
