ED Lodges Case Against Gehlot, Pilot And Others: A criminal case has been registered by ED against Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot and others in Ambulance scam
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, PCC chief Sachin Pilot and sons of two former Union ministers have been booked by Enforcement directorate under the charges of money laundering in connection with the Rajasthan Ambulance scam.
The son of Union Minister P Chidambaram, Karthi Chidambaram and son of union minister Vayalar Ravi Ravi Krishna were also booked under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Based on the complaint of city mayor Pankaj Joshi a case have been booked by Jaipur police on the alleged irregularities in the award of tender of ambulance services to a firm Ziqitza Health Care ran by Ravi Krishna and Karthi Chidambaram to operate 108 ambulances across Rajasthan.
Huge amount of money laundering has been found in this contract when the financial reports were audited. It is found that Ziqitza Healthcare has fudged the bills and alleged financial irregularities to the tune of Rs.2.56 crore.
The FIR has been registered by the state government against Gehlot and of the company Ziqitza Health Care, Karthi, Krishna,Pilot as well as its director Sweta Mangal, former Health Minister of Rajasthan Duru Mirza and the director of National Rural Health Mission.
The complainant alleged that when Gehlot government was formed, they found alleged irregularities in the service and recommended that fresh tenders be called for plying ambulances in the state.
CBI had claimed that the terms of tenders were granted in such a way, making it mandatory for the ambulances to have GPS among others, that it favoured Ziqitza Health Care making it the sole bidder.
