AAP Govt’s Onion Scam: According to RTI survey the AAP Govt brought onions at Rs 18 per Kg and sold them at Rs 30 per kg.
As the Aam Aadmi Party claims that it will sell onions at Rs 30 per kg which it brought at 40 per kg to Delhites.
But the Right To Information Survey report says that the Aam Aadmi Party cheated people and resorted to a Onion Scam by purchasing onions at Rs 18 per kg and sold it to the citizens at Rs 30 per kg.
There is a huge price differentiation between the purchasing cost of the onions and the price at which the AAP government sold onions to the citizens of Delhi, alleged the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (Nafed).
The AAP Govt as it promised that it will sell onions at no profit, no loss to the citizens but it failed to keep its promise and sold the onions at Rs 30 per kg which is twice the rate at which the onions were procured.
The RTI Govt revealed that the AAP Govt procured 2637 metric tonnes of onions between May 17 and June 17 through Small Farmer Business Consoritum from the markets of Nashik in Maharashtra and Indore in Madhya Pradesh at Rs 16 per Kg and sold them at Rs 40 per kg at first and later reduced the price to Rs 30 per Kg.
But the Aam Aadmi Party denied all the allegations saying that it is the attempt to spoil the reputation of the AAP. Delhi Chief Minister Manish Sisodia even submitted a bill of purchased onions showing that the party purchased the onions at Rs 33 per kg from the Central Govt’s agency SFAC.
