Railways have decided to run four pairs of long distance trains through Cuttack station by providing stoppages. These trains currently run via Naraj station through a different route on the outskirts of the city.
Passengers had long been demanding these trains via Cuttack station instead of Naraj. Sources in the the East Coast Railway (ECoR) said a decision in this regard was taken after the completion of doubling work between Cuttack and Barang stations.
The weekly trains Guwahati-Chennai Express, Dibrugarh-Chennai Express, Howrah-Kanyakumari Express and Howrah-Tiruchirapalli Express will arrive in Cuttack at 9.55 pm and leave the station at 10pm towards southern part of India. In the return direction, these trains will reach Cuttack at 7.30 pm and leave at 7.35 pm towards Howrah and the north-eastern part of the country.
