Anbumani Ramadoss urges Tamil Nadu CM to repair roads before monsoon
Chennai roads resemble a war-torn area and it has become a sort of adventure for motorists to travel on damaged roads, PMK’s chief ministerial candidate Anbumani Ramadoss said in a letter to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
In a letter to Ms Jayalalithaa on Saturday, he sought seeking immediate repair of road before the onset of northeast monsoon. “In 2014, the city registered 9465 accidents in which 1,046 people were killed. Bad roads is the prime reason for the accidents,” he said.
Pointing out that maximum number of people in the city travel in two-wheelers, he said that riding in pothole ridded roads would give rise to problems like back pain and shoulder pain. “Even youths have started facing such problems. Besides health affects, the bad roads leads to accidents and traffic congestion,” he said.
