Tamil Nadu should be represented by farmers’ representatives and other high officials since there are not enough chief engineers in the PWD to interact with the technical team visiting the Cauvery basin, DMK leader M K Stalin said. Stalin said that at least 12 chief engineer posts are lying vacant in the PWD and this shouldn’t affect Tamil Nadu’s case.
Stalin spoke to mediapersons, on his way to participate in a function organized in Thanjavur to mark the induction of 10,000 persons including members of the DMDK into the DMK, on Sunday . He said that farmers had condemned the visit of the high-level committee to the delta region without them being kept in the loop about the team’s tour and other details. The farmers should be informed adequately of the tour plans of the committee.
