The Tamil Nadu government is working on a mobile app that will help citizens access 300 government services through their phones, including paying property tax, power and water bills. The bilingual (Tamil and English) app, which will provide real-time schedules of government bus services, is expected to go live next year.

“We are looking at digitisation at all stages of governance,“ said T K Ramachandran, principal secretary , at CII’s Connect 2016 in the city on Tuesday . Digitisation of files and real time availability of infor mation is something the government is very keen on providing. We are looking at digitisation at all stages of governance, from procurement to execution.The government is working on a mobile application for access to all government services,“ said T K Ramachandran, principal secretary , Tamil Nadu government at CII’s Connect 2016 in the city on Tuesday .

At present, Maharashtra and Gujarat have government-owned utility companies that have tied up with banks and e-wallets to enable mobile bill payment through an app.
