Japan gives Rs 1.5Kcr boost to TN healthcare
In a major boost to govern ment-run urban health care facilities in the state, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide `1,548 crore as part of the Japanese government’s Official Development Assistance. Medical college hospitals and district headquarters hospitals, including Kilpauk Medical College Hospital and Institute of Child Health in Chennai, are set to benefit from the aid.
Congress set to form Pondy govt
CM designate V Narayana samy met Lt Governor Kiran Bedi on Monday and staked claim to form the government in Puducherry . Narayanasamy presented Bedi letters of his election as Congress legislature party leader and support from two DMK MLAs. In the 30-member house, Congress had won 15 seats and DMK two.
