The driver of a granite quarry owner alleged human sacrifice against his owner who was booked in granite scam.
The police officials exhumed the skeletons of four bodies from a graveyard in Mallampatti village near Melur of Madurai.
The exhumation by the police comes after the driver of a granite quarry owner who was named in a granite scam revealed human sacrifice of two mentally challenged persons in 1999.
According to the sources the driver named Sevakodiyon who has worked as a driver at PRP Granites, has alleged that the owners of PRP had performed a human sacrifice and buried them in grave yard to ensure big business deals.
However the accused granite quarry owner has denied the allegations of human sacrifice and sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
IAS officer U Sagayam, appointed as legal commissioner to investigate the granite scam, started investigations of irregularities in mining in the district last December and the investigation is in final stage. The Commissioner is expected to submit his report in a few days.
At this while the driver alleged that his owner sacrificed the lives of 12 people including a woman over a period of time when the company stuck in deal or working on a new quarry.
And the police on the directions of driver went to the burial ground and shocked when they found a skeleton, including a skull that have been wrapped in saffron cloth at a depth of about 5 feet. All the bones were collected by the workers and later three more skeletons were exhumed.
It was learnt that the police also recovered some whole coconuts from the spot. Meanwhile the skeletons were sent to the forensic lab for examination.
