Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is expected to effect a major administrative reshuffle on Saturday and transfer about 28 IAS and 26 IPS officers in the state.
This exercise is designed to ensure that all districts which are coming into existence on October 11, will get a district collector and a district superintendent of police. The chief minister is expected to finalise the names of district collectors and SPs. Chandrasekhar Rao will also finalise names for newly formed police commissionerates in Karimnagar, Siricilla, Siddipet and Ramagundam after holding discussion with Karimnagar district leaders. The government has already decided to appoint IG cadre IPS officers as commissioners in the new commissionerates.
GHMC additional commissioner Surendra Mohan, environment secretary Manick Raj, GHMC zonal commisioner Gourav Uppal, marketing commissioner A Sarath and Medak district joint collector C Ven katram Reddy are expected to be elevated as district collectors.
