AP staff shifting deadline extended to August 31
The AP government on Friday extended the deadline for its employees for shifting to Amaravati from June 27 to August 31. The I&PR department has issued a release late in the evening to this effect.Addressing a press conference, APNGOs president P Ashok Babu, who met CM Chandrababu Naidu at his camp office, said the later responded positively to the request of employees who sought more time to move to Amaravati.
Chartered flights to fly Haj pilgrims from Aug 21
Chartered flights will begin flying pilgrims on August 21, the State Haj Committee (SHC) announced here on Friday .
As per SHC special officer Prof S A Shukoor, the pilgrims are scheduled to leave from the city from August 21to August 28 to the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Everyday two Air India flights with a capacity of 340 passengers each will leave from the Rajiv Gandhi International Air port (RGIA), he said. The pilgrims will then be taken to Mecca and from there to Medina. Pilgrims are scheduled to return from Medina from October 4 to October 8, he added.
The Haj camp is scheduled to begin on August 19. The last date for making the second instalment of Haj payment is July 2, Prof Shukoor shared.
