RTC to collect admin charges from pvt educational institutes
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has decided to collect administrative charges from private educational institutions, including schools, for extending bus pass facility to students.
In order to partially meet the expenditure involved in issueing computerised bus passes, manpower and other infrastructure cost in implementation of the new computerised bus pass system, the RTC decided to collect administrative charges, TSRTC officials said here on Saturday .
Addressing a press meet, TSRTC executive director (Greater Hyderabad) Purushotham Naik said the charges should be paid by private recognised educational institutes (schools, junior, degree, PG, engineering & medical colleges, ITI, technical institutions and institutes offering vocational courses).
Students instead of going to RTC bus pass centres would have to apply online and use a unique code given to each of the educational institution while applying for pass. As of now, there were 2.5 lakh student bus pass holders in city. RTC officials are aiming to garner Rs 1.5 crore from the new initiative.
