The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) has distributed 1.39 lakh metric tons of rations including rice, flour and sugar among the consumers in Kashmir division during the past three months.

Tassaduq Jeelani, Director FCS&CA, Kashmir, according to an official statement today said that despite facing severe hardships amid turbulence, the employees of the Department kept the ration depots functional, in every nook and corner of the Valley, and ensured availability of food-grains and other essentials to the people.

Giving details of the distribution of essential commodities in Kashmir division, Jeelani said the Department distributed 1.3 lakh MT of rice and atta between July 2016 and September 2016. Similarly, he said, 9.45 thousand MTs of sugar were distributed among the consumers during this period.
