Haryana Panchayati Election Schedule Announced: The State Election Commission of Haryana announced the schedule of fifth Haryana Panchayati elections
The schedule for the three phased Panchayati elections of Haryana have been announced by State Election Commission (SEC) of Haryana on Tuesday.
The schedule comes a day after the the state assembly passed the Haryana Panchayati Raj Act which stipulated minimum educational qualification for the contestants of gram panchayati elections besides laying down other conditions including making it mandatory for the candidates to have functional toilets. Apart from these the contestants should also ensure that they do not have any criminal charges against them, have not defaulted on loans from cooperative banks and have paid their electricity bills.
This is the fifth panchayati election of Haryana which is going to be held in three phases starting from October 4, 2015 as per the schedule announced.
As per the schedule announced by the State Election Commissioner Rajiv Sharma the Panchayati polls will begin from October 4 and will be held in three phases each on October 4, Oct 11 and 18.
Panches, Sarpanches of gram panchayats and members of panchayati samithi will be elected through these polls. The elections will be held for 6,197 Gram Panchayats,123 Panchayat Samithis ad 20 Zilla Parishads.
Elections would be conducted for 393 posts of 20 zila parishads, 2,932 posts of 123 Panchayati samitis and 6,197 and 62,471 posts of sarpanches and panchs respectively.
The counting will start immediately after the elections.The total expenditure on the panchayati elections is expected to be about Rs 15-18 crore.
The date for filing the nominations for the first phase is on September 15-19, For the second phase is Sept 22-29, third phase is from October 1-7.
The withdrawal of the nominations were scheduled on September 24 for first phase, October 3 for second phase and October 10 for third phase.
