Hike Messenger: Hike Messenger on Friday announced that it is introducing free group calling the facility to its mobile messenger app. The feature would allow up to 100 people to talk to each other in a group Conference Call. It is available for free on the Hike Messenger Android app, which you can download from Google Play.
While group calling is not an exclusive feature, is not available on most instant messengers, including and especially WhatsApp, the huge in the category which announced earlier this month that it has 900 million monthly active users. The line had recently launched a group calling app called Popcorn Buzz, letting users speak up to 200 people to talk to each other in a group Conference Call.
The calling feature, which will work over 4G and wi-fi to begin with, is available on Android currently while iOS and Windows will be followed by end of the year, the company said in a statement on Friday.
hike messenger CEO and founder Kavin Bharti Mittal said, “Now with the tap of a single button, you can connect up to 100 people in one call. It’s that simple. No more pins, no more dial in numbers and no more putting people on hold. Making a group call has never been this easy.”
The feature will require the participants to be on either 4G cellular network or a fast Wi-Fi network, the company said. Free group audio calling feature will arrive on Hike Messenger iPhone and Windows Phone clients later this year.
The company said group calling has been launched keeping in mind the needs of students and families who love to chat in groups as well as small executive teams whose job demands being in sync with their large teams while on the move. Consumers can get this feature by upgrading to the latest version of Hike, which is available on the Google Play Store
