Representatives of Haryana Civil Medical Services Association (HCMSA), a body of the state’s government doctors, on Wednesday claimed that due to shortage of doctors they were not even doing justice with the bodies waiting for autopsies.
Led by its president, Dr Jasbir Singh Parmar, an HCMSA team said of the 21 civil hospitals in Haryana, number of experts of forensic medicines, who supervise the autopsies, is not more than 10. “SOoyou can imagine whether doctors are able to do justice to those dead,“ said Dr Dinesh Garg, joint secretary of HCMSA. “To our knowledge only 2,000 government doctors are working in Haryana. According to the sanctioned posts, we need 1,680 more doctors.“
