A Singapore-based Manipuri youth has received a $40,000 grant from Facebook to develop a mobile application which he founded in 2015.
Monish Karam, founder of Jobsenz, received the grant under the FbStart initiative, which helps startups. “The $40,000 from Facebook is meant to build, grow, and monetize the app.We are using it for marketing and Amazon AWS server infrastructure,“ Karam told . “The app was chosen because of its impressive development and potential for growth,“ said Karam, who is from Imphal.
The app allows users to search for jobs, access a resume builder and prepare for assessments with live exams “It includes a marketplace where educators can sell or share course content directly to students or jobseekers,“ he said. Karam had started a software product RecruitSenz with the money won for an entrepreneurship award. It was sold to a firm in Singapore.
