The fate of 150 students allotted seats for the first year MBBS course at Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU), Kumarhatti, in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh in in dark as government is yet to settle the issue of fee revision with private university . While new session of MBBS course would start at state government run Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla, from Wednesday , the private university has made it clear that without revising the fee it would not admit students.
Securing merit positions in entrance examination conducted for MBBS course, students were allotted seats in MMU after conducting counselling from September 3 to 7. They were supposed to take admission by September 8 but till date they were running from pillar to post as the private university wants to settle the issue of fee revision before admitting fresh batch of MBBS students.
