Display and configuration
The HTC Desire 816 sports a a 5.5-inch display which features HD resolution (1,280 x 720 pixels) giving it a pixel density of 267 ppi. Running the Android OS, topped with Sense UI offering features like BlinkFeed and Zoe, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz backed by 1.5GB of RAM. The BlinkFeed feature lets you view a stream of personalised news, updates and stories on one screen.
The phablet has dual speakers at the front which is also known as BoomSound. The display features an edge-to-edge design giving it a HTC One like feel. The desire 816 is HTCÂs first device to offer virtual navigation keys instead of hardware buttons.
Camera and storage
For shutterbugs, it offers a 13-megapixel camera at the back illuminated by an LED flash. It also comes with a 5MP camera at the front, which will be useful for video chatting. There’s 8GB of storage with a microSD slot supporting cards up to 64GB.
Connectivity and battery
In terms of connectivity, it has the usual features including 3G and LTE support (nano-SIM slot) along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The Desire 816 is powered by a non-removable 2,600mAh battery.
Like every other vendor, HTC has also offered its mid-range weapon with top-notch specs. With an extra-large HD display, powerful snappers and robust configuration, the device deserves accolades for what it’s offering for its price.
