The HTC Explorer is low end smartphone which is meant to handle absolutely basic jobs. It has got a small display which has a low resolution. It can handle your basic calling and texting jobs. You can run low end apps and web browser but multitasking is a strict no.
The phone measures 102.8 x 57.2 x 12.9 mm and has a weight of just 108 gms. It has a 3.2 inch TFT display and runs a Qualcomm chipset with a 600 MHz processor. It has an Adreno 200 GPU and 512 MB of RAM. The hardware is pretty low end so dont expect much from it. It runs an older version of android at Gingerbread 2.3 and they havent updated it to a newer version. It runs the HTC Sense UI 3.5 on top of it which improves the otherwise simple android interface.
For audio it gets SRS sound enhancement which considerably improves sound quality when listening through headphones. The build quality is decent for a low end device and the device doesnt feel exactly low end when you hold it. The Sense UI also helps evade the low end feel but the display is bad. You can easily spot the pixels and neither the colour replication nor the contrast levels are good.
This device by HTC is a low end device meant for those who look for a really basic device and dont expect much from their phone. It is good enough for light web browsing and social networking but anything more than that is too much. It has got decent sound quality though and the SRS enhancement works well to improve the sound quality you get from your headphones. The device has a decent built quality for a low end device and the small size makes it easy to handle.
