Shahil Dey won the National U-9 Chess Championship which ended at Jalandhar, Punjab today.
Shahil scored an impressive 9.5 points out of possible 11 and remained undefeated in the entire tournament.
Shahil had earlier created history by winning the National U-7 Chess Championship at Kolkata in the year 2014 and thus became the first chess player of the State to win the national championship twice.
The Gauhati Town Club Chess Foundation congratulated Shahil for his achievement.
