A student of Indian Institute of Technology- Madras committed suicide in his hostel room on Monday, for not clearing his GATE Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
From the information of the sources, Narendra Kumar (23) is the son of the Narayana Kumar who is pursuing his Master’s degree in the IIT Madras in Civil Engineering belongs to Andhra Pradesh found dead in Thamarabarani hostel inside the campus
Police are saying that, he was hanged from ceiling fan using bedspread of room, After watching this incident in the morning his friends while he absence in lunch and dinner went to management and security officers of the campus and informed them.

After hearing about the news Narendra Kumar (23) parents reached the city from Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh. Officials are saying that he was assured with a job in engineering conglomerate L&T but his aimbition is to get a government job, for this he attempted the GATE exam twice, In the first attempt he ranked 2000s and in the second attempt he marked 750, he still trying to get a better rank like 150-200, inspite of cracking it he hanged himself and took his life and now his body reached Royapettah Government Hospital.
Director of the institute added, “At this time, we have no indication of the reason for death. The student’s parents have been notified. The Institute offers its deepest condolences to the parents for the unfortunate and devastating loss.”
