Indian National Murdered In South Africa: A trader of a Indian origin running a Grocery store for past 15 years in South Africa has been robbed and was killed by unknown.
A Indian trader has been robbed and killed by unknown people in South Africa on Saturday.
According to the sources Biren Patel, an Indian trader who left India was running a Grocery store for the past 15 years by residing there.
He closed down his store and was returning home and meanwhile two unknown assailants tied his hands and legs and robbed him.
Then both the criminals slit his throat and escaped from the spot. Biren was rushed to a hospital by some local residents and he succumbed to injuries on Saturday.
Patel’s family which resides in India in Anand town of central Gujarat urged the government to help them in getting back his dead body, so that they can perform the last rites of Biren Patel.
Biren’s Mother Meenaben Patel said that she knew about the incident through her relatives residing in US and she said that it is very difficult to bring the body as there are no Gujarati’s there. Meena Patel is survived by two children.
A relative of Biren, Drugesh Patel said that the government should act quick and ensure that the body of Biren is brought back. We are not able to get in touch with authorities there as of now.
Patel was 40 and was separated with his wife, a South African three years ago.In the month of May this year a man from Gujarat’s Valsad district was also killed in South Africa and there have been nine other attacks on Gujaratis in other countries including the US. The Govt’s should take measures to ensure the safety of Gujarati community who leave home country in order to find jobs and business there.
