Man Shoots Himself At A Metro Station: A man shot himself with a pistol which was not been checked by the security in the metro station until the man shot himself.
A 22 year old man shot himself with pistol after boarding a train in the Chandi Chowk station in a major security breach.
According to the sources a 22-year-old man in Delhi metro after boarded a train at the Chandni Chowk station and travelled all the way to Rajiv Chowk and shot himself with a pistol that he brought along with him.
The incident took place around 9.30pm on Thursday on platform number 1 of the Rajiv Chowk station. The incident shows the how security arrangements at the metro stations are maintained. Without any security checks the man managed to travel from Chandni Chowk to Rajiv Chowk with a pistol.
The victim is identified as Srivesh Adhikari a resident of Fatehpur Sikri area who was going to see his father who is admitted in Apollo Hospital.
The man was rushed to a hospital immediately and is undergoing treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
The police officials were investigating the case and in order to ascertain how the man managed the high security at the Chandni Chowk station which is under CISF surveillance. As part of the enquiry the cops questioned the security personnel at Chandni Chowk station.
The cops had checked the CCTV footages on this route and also the call records of the victim are being checked to find out any clues.
According to CCTV footage Adhikari is seen stepping out of the train (going towards Noida) at platform number 1 and heading for gate number 3. He then pulls out the pistol and walks to a corner of the station and shot himself.
An ID card had been recovered from the man’s pocket and when contacted his family,it was known that he was depressed due to his father’s health condition.
