: The foundation stone would be laid down by PM Modi for AP capital on October 22, 2015.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said in a statement that the foundation stone for the construction of new capital city for Andhra Pradesh would be laid down by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 22, 2015.
The CM after a advisory meeting of the Capital Advisory Committee confirmed the approval of Modi to attend the event.
The Bhumi Puja had already been performed by CM for the construction of capital city which would com up in Vijayawada region.
The status of works and other arrangements had also been reviewed by Babu for the foundation-laying ceremony on October 22 with the committee in the meeting.
He opined that the location where the foundation stone will be laid should be vaastu-compliant as the new capital will become nerve centre of Andhra Pradesh in future, signifying river-linking and a spot where soil from all mandals will be mixed with the soil of Amaravati.
Meanwhile the centre has announced a special package of an amount of Rs 1000 crore for the development of Andhra Pradesh on Friday. Out of this 1000 crore Rs 350 crore was embarked for the construction of new capital city for Andhra Pradesh.
Out of the remaining funds Rs 350 crore will be utilized for the development of backward districts of Andhra Pradesh, Rs 300 crore for the construction of Polavaram project and the remaining amount will be utilized for the development of infrastructure.
Recently Chandrababu Naidu went on a two day visit to Delhi where he met several union ministers and explained them about the need of funds for the newly formed Andhra Pradesh claiming that every thing in the new state should be built from the scratch.
