National award-winning director Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming Bengali movie on the India-Pakistan partition, Rajkahini, features a new version Jana Gana Mana that will leave you amazed.
Bengali Filmmaker Srijit Mukherji has come up with a haunting yet marvelous version of the Indian National Anthem and it will leave you with goosebumps.
Featuring in his upcoming movie Rajkahini (The Tale of Kings), this new version of Jana Gana Mana, titled Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata, has been voiced by a number of singers, such as Kabir Suman, Anupam Roy, Babul Supriyo, Rupam Islam, etc. And while the original composition of Rabindranath Tagore’s is kept intact, the feel of this rearranged track brings a new life to the song. Delving into the grim history of India-Pakistan partition, Mukherjee’s movie Rajkahini is weaved around a border between the two nations that runs through a brothel housing 11 women.
Starring Rituparna Sengupta, Saswata Chatterjee (remember Bob Biswas from Kahaani?), Jisshu Sengupta and a multitude of other actors, Rajkahini is Srijit Mukherji’s eighth venture and is set to hit the theaters this October.
