Another Notice To Be Issued To Somnath Bharti: Another notice is likely to be issued to the AAP leader Somnath Bharti in connection with the domestic violence case, said Delhi police.
The Delhi Police said that it is likely to summon Aam Aadmi Party leader and Ex Law Minister Somnath Bharti for the second time under the charges of domestic violence.
Based on the complaint given by his wife Lipika Mitra Somnath Bharti has been booked for attempt to murder, domestic violence and other criminal charges.
He was summoned earlier to attend for questioning before the police officials but as he didn’t turn up, the officials decided to send a second notice to him.
The Delhi police said after sending notice, Bharti has agreed to present himself before police in Dwarka North Police Station a 11:00 am but failed to do so. And when an official visited his residence later in the afternoon at Malviya Nagar and found that the door was locked.
The allegations made by Lipika include harassment dowry, attempt to murder of Lipika Bharti and her unborn child, torturing by having dogs chase her and cheating by making false claims prior to marriage. Mitra additionally informed the police that on March 27 and 28, Bharti had allegedly subjected her to extreme violence and in addition tried to slit her wrist.
Joint Commissioner of Police (South-West), Dependra Pathak said that the leader has been booked under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 498(a)(cruelty towards partner in marriage) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of Indian Penal Code.
