On Monday, slamming the statement of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat that reservations to other backward classes (OBCs) can’t be discontinued at all, Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM president asked the Modi government to make its stand clear on the statement by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Owaisi said the true face of Modi government was slowly coming out as they wish Hindu consolidation to make sure that OBC reservation to be removed.
“We would like to know what is Modi government’s policy on the statement given by the RSS chief who is ideological guru of all swayamsevaks including the Prime Minister,” the Hyderabad lawmaker said while reacting to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief’s statement.
He said calling for a reservation policy review was the simple way of saying that reservation should be stopped to OBCs. “This can’t be done at all,” he said.
The MIM president challenged the Modi government to release caste census. “The whole world will come to know what is the actual reality and then OBCs will decide.”
Owaisi also wanted to know why the centre was opposing promotions to Dalits in the government sector.
RSS chief has called for a review of the reservation policy in India, while contending it has been used for political ends. Bhagwat suggested that an apolitical committee be set up to examine who needs the facility and for how long.
