Six more cases of dengue were reported from the city on Wednesday, taking the tally of confirmed cases in Lucknow to 102. Most of these patients belong to the Gomtinagar and Chinhat areas, both of which have been identified as sensitive areas for dengue in the current season.
The numbers are expected to increase in September, which is the peak season. A health team from the Centre visited the two sensitive areas and ordered the state health team to undertake daily sprays of anti-larvae fogging.
The state health department has formed a threemember `dengue death audit’ team to maintain records of deaths that may occur due to complications caused by dengue.
Meanwhile, an awareness programme for students was held and medicines distributed, at Nari Shiksha Niketan in Kaiserbagh.
