Power crisis over: Govt
The UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUN), on Monday, claimed that it had overcome the power crisis that had stemmed from coal shortage at its 2420 MW Anpara power plant. Managing director, UPRVUN, AP Mishra said only the 500 MW unit number7 was shut while the rest were functional and synchronized with the grid. He said the seventh unit too would start functioning again by Tuesday.
Workshop on solar energy:
A workshop, `Solar energy: A Source of Improving Economic Viability of Sugar Industry’, was organized at Lucknow University’s second campus on Monday. The workshop was also attended by secretary, additional sources of energy, Parth Sarthi Sen Sharma who said sugar industries should come forward and promote the use of solar energy in mills.
Babbar to meet party leaders on Oct 7:
In the run-up to Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, UP Congress Committee (UPCC) chief, Raj Babbar will meet state officebearers and presidents of all city and district committees in Lucknow for the first time after taking office, on October 7 to discuss poll strategies.
