Many roads blocked in Uttarakhand following heavy rains
The Char Dham Yatra has been affected once again as incessant rains continued to lash hills of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. In fact, the Badrinath Highway was intermittently getting blocked by recurring landslides at different places.
As per State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), there are still over 150 blocked roads across the state with Tehri distrit remains worst affected with 16 obstructed roads. While there are 11 roads each blocked in Rudraprayag and Pauri district.
Moreover, the all-important Badrinath highway (NH-58) was blocked at Lambagad and Sirobagad in Chamoli district. Border Roads Organization (BRO) personnel’s were pressed into service on Wednesday afternoon to remove the debris. The Kedarnath highway (NH-109) also remained obstructed at Fata in Rudraprayag district.
