Talgo train completes fourth trial
High-speed train Talgo completed its fourth trial between New Delhi and Mumbai at 130 kmph speed in 13 hours and 17 minutes.
The trial was supposed to get over in 12 hours and 45 minutes but the train got delayed because cattle run over incident and signal failure at some locations en route.
A Western Railway (WR) official said, “While, Rajdhani takes 15 hours and 50 minutes to reach Mumbai Central from New Delhi, Talgo was able to cover this faster because of superior technology .“
Train started from New Delhi at 2.50 pm and arrived Mumbai Central at 4.07 am in 13 hours 17 Minutes at average speed of 102 kmph .
A WR official said, “Few more trials with higher speed (up to 150 kmph) will be done and the dates for the same is yet to be decided.“
