Rajasthan High Court on Thursday stayed the recruitment of school lecturers in political science and issued notices to the principal secretary , education, director board of secondary education, Rai Publication and secretary Rajasthan Public Service Commission over alleged irregularities in the exam held for the post of lecturer Political science.
The single bench of Justice MN Bhandari order came on a petition by Kamal Meena and others.
The counsels for the petitioners Vigyan Shah and RP Saini said the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) invited application to the post of school lecturers for different subjects including Political Science on Oct last year. As per the scheme of the examination, the merit list had to be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks secured by the candidates in paper I (General awareness and Gene ral studies) having weightage of 150 marks and in paper II (subject concerned) having a weightage of 300 marks. The examination of paper I for all the subjects were conducted on the same day , July 17 this year being the common paper for all subjects while the paper II subject concerned (political science) took place on July 20.
The petition alleged that the about 83 % of the questions paper I were based on the book published by Rai publications.Besides, the RPSC had gone ahead with declaring the results without inviting revised answer key or publishing the merit list. Apart from that there were allegations of mass copying at three centres of Barmer district between the roll numbers 190000 to 195000 for Paper I. It said paper II of these candidates was held in different districts and based upon the higher marks they secured in paper I they succeeded to quality in large numbers in different subjects in comparison to candidates appeared from other centres, it was alleged.
