Apna Sansthan has started a plantation drive in 7,209 villages of the state.

Expressing concern over ecological imbalance, RSS kshetriya sanchalak Dr V B Sharma said, “Over a period of time, pollinators like honey bees and butterflies have decreased in number due to ecological imbalance. Global warning has also become a concern. Also, lack of fruit bearing trees has affected birds’ movement. There is a need for plantation drive to deal with ecological imbalance.“

He said that earlier one could easily find fruit bearing trees within half a kilometre distance. Birds easily found shelter and food in such trees. But, at present, such trees are not easily found. Because of this, birds have to travel long distances for food and water. When they do not find food and shelter, they die.
