The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will initiate an inquiry against 11 developers who were allegedly bookings unapproved projects under the chief minister’s affordable housing scheme.

The additional commissio ner of police (ACP) has recently written a letter to the JDA mentioning that developers are fleecing Lower Income Group (LIG) and Economic Weaker Section (EWS) as they are inviting booking of unapproved projects on large scale. Following this, the JDA secretary has directed the zone commissioner to submit a report in seven days.

These developers are making misleading claims through advertisements in several national and regional newspapers inviting applications from prospective buyers for these low-cost housing schemes. At present, best few schemes have been approved by the JDA. In August, the JDA secretary had also directed the zone commissioners to take action against the developers who are publishing advertisement, despite their project are not approved. However, nothing was done in this regard.

Sources informed, it is mentioned that as the invitation is for purchasers of poor and lower income group category , possibilities are high that many might easily get duped as they are not well educated. Under the Yojna, the government will provide loans will provide loans for eligible borrowers at a subsidy at 6.5% per annum on a maximum amount of Rs 6 lakh or the loan amount, whichever is lower, for a maximum tenure of 15 years.
