Rajendra Kasawa who was the prime accused in the case of Jhabua explosion which has taken the lives of 88 and left many with injuries has been reportedly arrested by the police in Maharashtra according to a leading daily.
But the police officials didn’t make an announcement yet regarding his arrest. Earlier the police officials have detained the family members including his wife Pramila and son Shubham and daughter Sonia and questioned them.
Kasawa has been booked for keeping gelatin sticks in his house which led to the explosion following which the residences and godowns of Kasawa have been sealed.
Kasawa was booked by police under sections of Explosives Act and IPC section 304.
Meanwhile the police have detained Dharmendra Rathore who provided explosives to Kaswa from Badnawar of Dhar district.
69 detonators, two batteries and a large number of gelatin sticks were also seized by police from the residence of Kasawas brother Narendra in Petlawad. The explosive materials were allegedly illegally stocked by him for carrying out mining activities.
A massive explosion has taken place in a three-storey residential-commercial complex on last Saturday which had claimed at least 100 lives including women and children in Petlawad which had turned the building into a graveyard after the explosion.
The explosion was caused due to the storage of stockpile of gelatin rods, urea, nitrogen-potassium and phosphorous stored inside a locked shop on Petlawad-Thandla highway.
According to the sources Rajendra Kaswa has rented the building in order to run a agricultural product business five years ago and stored gelatin inside the building illegally and it caused an explosion.
