CBI Arrests Business Man In Saradha Scam: The Central Bureau of Investigation forces have arrested a business man in connection with the Saradha financial scam.
According to the sources A Kolkata based business man named Ramesh Gandhi who was the owner of Rainbow productions have been arrested by the officials of CBI on Monday from his house in Kolkatas Tollygunge area.
He after the arrest was taken to the CBI office at CGO complex for further interrogation and it was learnt that he will be produced before court on Tuesday.
According to the CBI sources Gandhi who used to operate the ‘NE Bangla’ channel helped former Congress MP Matang Singh to sell his television channel called ‘NE Bangla’ to Sudipta Sen of the Saradha group.
Meanwhile disputes raised between them regarding the deal. Matang Singh, during his deposition before Justice Shyaml Kumar Sen commission alleged that he had received Rs 11.79 crore from Sudipta Sen, but Sen had asserted paying Singh Rs 28 crore.
As the CBI felt that Gandhi is not co operating with the probe arrested him from his media office at Prince Anwar Shah Road and taken him to CBI office at CGO complex and questioned him there.
The CBI officials in order to get some concrete proofs want to question Ramesh. CBI officials were likely to produce Gandhi in court on Tuesday and they would seek his custody.
Ramesh has a business deal with Matang Singh from few past years and was operating the ‘NE Bangla’ from Kolkata as part of the NETV operations. He was also instrumental in helping Sen to buy ‘NE Bangla’.
The channel has been sold to another promoter. The CBI officials are now trying to ascertain the exact amount Gandhi had received from the deals.
