Industrial production declines by 0.8%:
Industrial output contracted by 0.8% in April, the first decline in three months, due to drastic fall in capital goods production and manufacturing activities, prompting demands for pro-active measures by government to boost demand. Factory output measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production had expanded by 3% in April last year.
Air pollution may cause stroke, says study:
Air pollution affects not only the lungs, but could also trigger a stroke. A 188-nation study published in The Lancet Neurology on Friday estimated that almost a third of the stroke burden -almost 15 million cases a year -can be attributed to air pollution, both outdoors and indoors.
