The Odisha government on Tuesday hiked fares for all classes of traveler buses according to automatic fare adjustment mechanism.
According to a notice issued by the Commerce and Transport office, the fare for normal and express transports has been hiked by 1 paisa per kilometer, while fare for Deluxe and AC Deluxe class transports has been hiked by 2 paise per kilometer.
With this hike coming into effect, the fare for ordinary buses will now be 59 paise per km as against 58 paise per km earlier while the fare of express buses has been increased to 62 paise from 61 paise per km.
Similarly, deluxe category buses will now charge 82 paise per km as against 80 paise earlier and commuters travelling in AC Deluxe buses have to fork out Rs 1.03 instead of the current Rs 1.01 paise per km, the notification added.
